2. Less is Best.

Don’t overstuff the waffle with the chaffle mix. As mentioned in tip number 1, it needs to be thin enough to hold a burger but too thick and it ends up soggy.

3. Hot. Hot. Hot.

Make sure your waffle maker is good and HOT before adding chaffle mix and make sure you cook for NO LESS than 3 minutes. The longer, the better.

4. Keep It Dry.

Do NOT put any oil on the waffle maker. It needs to be dry to crisp the outside. It won’t stick if you let it cook long enough to get good and brown. The browner it is, the easier it comes out of the waffle maker.

Add 1 tsp of baking powder to a traditional chaffle recipe of 1/2 cup cheese + 1 egg. This gives it more air on the inside making it less dense. Alternatives: Add 1 tablespoon of almond flour or coconut flour to the chaffle batter.

8. Toast It!

After the chaffle is out of the waffle maker and you have let it cool off. Toss it in a toaster or a toaster oven to harden both sides.

9. Fry It.

For really crispy chuffles, right after you take the chafull from the waffle maker, toss it into a frying pan with a little butter. Cook on both sides for 2 minues in the fry pan, pressing it while frying to make them crisp up evev more.
