Cream Cheese Wonder Bread Chaffle – Keto White Bread Recipe



I have already posted chaffle recipes for making wonder bread chaffles but I forgot to include a variation of this popular chaffle used for holding your burger or making stuffed keto sandwiches, called Cream Cheese Wonder Bread Chaffles.

If you don’t know what a chaffle is, it is a waffle made from cheese (usually cheddar or mozzarella) and egg only so that it fits the keto diet as a great lo-carb, high protein waffle (it is called a chaffle from combining the word cheese with waffle).

Chaffles can be eaten alone as a cheese snack or loaded up with stuff in between 2 chaffles. Chaffles for sandwiches are best made in a mini-waffle maker (find the link to the most popular chaffle maker on Amazon below this video).

But what if you want your keto bun or bread to not taste like cheese?

Well, the answer is don’t use cheese as a primary ingredient! Instead, make a chaffle that comes out just like bread using lo-carb almond flour plus egg plus something for the fat content and to make it all nice and fluffly. The basic or original wonder bread chaffle uses mayonnaise but here is a variation that makes a nice, fluffly wonder bread chaffle.

Cream Cheese Wonder Bread Chaffle Ingredients

1 oz softened cream cheese
1 egg
1.5 tbsp almond flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
pinch of seasoning of your choice

A popular seasoning is Everything Bagel Seasoning Blend found at Amazon (click the link below this video to get to the right page on Amazon for this item).


Mix all ingredients with a whisk to mix well.

Divide in half.

Cook one half at a time in mini-waffle maker  4 – 6 minutes.

Two chaffles make a sandwich or bun.
